I just wanted to send you an email and let you know that what the Blue Star Mothers of America organization is doing is so important and is truly a blessing. I was born and raised in Oklahoma and I am an Army nurse at Walter Reed. As you probably know, we get a great number of wounded warriors who are not only physically injured, but some are also emotionally hurting as well. Some of these men and women have numerous visitors, which I believe makes their transition much easier. However, there are some who don't get many visitors, for whatever reason, and I think that this can take an emotional toll on them because they feel as though no one cares about them or appreciates their service, which is not the case at all. As a nurse and soldier my words can only go so far with these soldiers. It means the most to them when they hear good things from someone outside the military.

Today I saw your group of people when you came to visit some of our wounded warriors and I got to talking to a gentleman who's mother is in your organization (I think his name might be Daniel). I noticed that he was wearing a Sooners hat and asked if he was from OK (who else, but a true Sooners fan would wear a Sooners hat this season?!). He told me why y'all were there and that y'all had just been to visit some soldiers. I know that the soldiers that you all visited greatly appreciate the time that y'all take out of your schedules to come all the way to DC just to visit with them and let them know they ARE appreciated and what they do IS important.

I work with these soldiers day in and day out and I can always tell when someone has been by to see them because they are in greater spirits and are smiling more.. So thank you all for your caring hearts, your loving spirits, and your smiling faces. Your support is what keeps our soldiers going in times like these.

Have a great weekend and God bless!

Very respectfully,

Thank you ALL for everything you do, for your sacrifices and your service. You, too, are truly heroes. guardian angels as well. I would love to become a member, but my son didn't enlist. Thank God and Congress the draft is gone. Very few of my friends were drafted to Vietnam, choosing to enlist instead, but what a nightmare those days were. Thankfully, today's kids are welcomed home and supported by America.

How to start,

First of all me and my soldiers are currently located in Tallil,Iraq. Most of them are'nt fortunate to get to go home for Christmas or New Years to be close to home with the family and loved ones.
BUT thanks to this organization that you blessing women have created, you give a chance for soldiers to feel like home and that just because we are across the world and far away does not mean we dont get to be happy. thank you so much for the care packages and stockings full of joy and candy we have a peice of home. thank you once again i can never thank you enough. God Bless you all.

To ALL the Blue Star Mothers, and especially to the Delmarva Chapter-Thank You!!!!!!!!

I just arrived in Afghanistan and we started settling into our new base camp, when I stumbled on a single Blue Star sitting on a shelf in our office as we started cleaning stuff out from the last unit. I wondered who would do such a thing to the our flag, until I flipped the star over and read the attached tag-"I am part of our American Flag that has flown over a Home in the USA. I can no longer fly. The sun and wind has caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that you are not forgotten". This Feb makes 20 years for me and I had never been so touched outside of my family. I frequently put myself in harms way due to the nature of my job, but I give the Blue Star the same priority as my rifle and military I.D. card-always close and accounted for.....I have my Protection, Identification and my Motivation-Thank You again!!!!

Dear ladies of the Blue Star Mothers of Edmond Oklahoma. My name is Technical Sergeant Cornelious Barnett, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thank you for the care packages that I have received from your organization during my deployment here in Kuwait. It has meant so much for myself and the others here when they have arrived, and your timing is always on time. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you upon my return, to thank you in person for your prayers, and packages and all that you do for us here. May God continue to shower down Blessings on each and every one of you and your entire organization.

P.S. I received a letter from a young man by the name of Brian, and I forget the elementary school that he attends there in Edmond, but I would like to thank him for his letter of encouragement. If you can assist me with that matter I would greatly appreciate it.

I would like to personally thank all of the Blue Star Mothers for what you have done for my family. Sgt. Kurt Kruize is my brother and he will be greatly missed and you all have been very supportive to my family through this difficult time. I would also like to thank you for the blankets that you had made for all of us with his name on them. That blanket means a great deal to all of us who received them. So thank you from Sgt. Kruize's family and from all of the other fallen soldiers familes as well. God Bless!

I would like to take this chance to thank 5 y/o Aidan for his care package sent to me. I received it today and really enjoyed the contents. Good guess on the Chef Boyardee, by the way! The past few days have been...trying...and to receive this package was just what I needed to close my eyes, breathe deep, and move forward in good spirits. Thank you, Aidan.

This is just a short note to the BSMA Heart of Georgia Chapter to say thank you for your care packages and heartfelt messages! It was a very pleasant surprise to receive the cards, letters and treats and I want you to know that it really means a lot to us who serve.

This is my 3rd deployment and during this rotation I had the opportunity to serve in both Iraq and Afghanistan. While I admit it was difficult to leave my family, your thoughts and prayers helped make my journey easier and I humbly thank you for YOUR support.
