Instructions and Timeline 2009
Our BSMA Chapters and Departments are encouraged to review the 2009 newly adopted BSMA Inc. governing documents that were voted on at the 2009 Convention, and then submit their proposed amendments to the Bylaw Committee. Our convention delegates will then vote on the acceptance of the proposed amendments at our 2010 Convention.
This is important to every Blue Star Mother. Our governing documents are the heart of our organizations governing structure. We encourage all of our members to review our governing documents and propose amendments where needed.
Please submit your chapter and/or departments proposed amendments to our Bylaw Committee chairwoman via email or mail to. The Bylaw Committee will review and compile proposed amendments. If there are duplicates, they may be voided or combined where needed. Additionally, the Bylaw Committee will study our governing documents from November 2009 to April 2010 to isolate and propose amendments.
Where to Submit Governing Document Amendments
Remember when submitting your proposed changes, please submit your Name, address, Chapter Name and Number, telephone number, along with a preferred email contact address with your governing documents changes.
Email is the preferred method for submission of amendments to the governing documents. Please only use mail, if you do not have access to the internet. Email the changes to julieroberts@rioranchobluestarmothers.org or mail changes to

Format for Governing Document Amendments
The process for proposed amendments is to write out the current statement within the governing document by clearly identifying ARTICLE and SECTION with black BOLD ITALIC FONT. Identify the portions of the governing document to “be changed” in red font. Re-write the proposed amendment with blue font. The software application, Microsoft Word is the preferred format for BSMA Inc. proposed amendments.

April 19, 2010 – Deadline for the Bylaws Committee to accept proposed by-laws changes
July 9, 2010 – Bylaws Committee prepares proposed governing document amendments for BSMA Inc. for member review 30 days prior to convention.
